SHAW: John Alexander "Jack" passed away peacefully, with his family by his side, at the Assiniboine Centre on March 28, 2000. His early childhood was spent in Carlyle, Saskatchewan. The family moved to Brandon in 1930. Jack was an employee of the C.N.R. for 40 years. During WWII he served with the R.C.N.V.R. He was also a life member of Royal Canadian Legion #3. Lovingly remembered by his wife of 57 years, Isabel; daughters: Jan Merino, Joan (Jim) Boles, and Marilyn (Les) Hoad. Jack loved his grandchildren, Lisa (Mike) and Craig, Dallas (Karen) and Dustin, Cheryl (Bill) and Jeff. His great grandchildren Jared, Jesse and Jalin, Kaitlin and Riley were a special joy. Jack is also survived by a sister Betty (Mel) Moore. At Jack's request no memorial service will be held. The cremated remains will be interred in the Veterans Section of the Brandon Cemetery at a private family service with The Rev. Jim Njegovan, Legion Padre, officiating on Friday, March 31, 2000.
