Obituary

MACDONALD: John Brian MacDonald of Brandon passed away peacefully on December 21, 2006 at Fairview Home after a lengthy illness. Brian and his twin brother, Kevin, were born on April 3, 1934, to parents John and Mary MacDonald in Dunrea. Brian grew up on the family farm affectionately called Section 9. In 1957, Brian married Joyce Little from Hilton. They have two daughters, Tannis and Dana. Brian finally got his boy when Dana married Dave Farquhar in 1989. Brian spent his entire career in the livestock industry. He was general manager of the Brandon, Virden, and Melita Auction Marts. He also owned and operated J & B Livestock Ltd. Brian was respected in the livestock industry for his honesty and integrity. He enjoyed serving the farm families of Western Manitoba. He finished his career with the Manitoba Department of Agriculture as Livestock Policy Coordinator and Livestock Security Coordinator. Brian, always devoted to his girls, was the best husband and father. During his illness, Joyce was Brian's angel on earth remaining at his side every step of the way. Brian is survived by his wife Joyce, daughters Tannis and Dana and son-in-law Dave. He is also survived by his twin brother Kevin, brothers Angus, Malcolm, Donald and their families. Brian is also survived by his father-in-law, Albert Little, sister-in-law Alma Toms and her family, and a special aunt Georgina (Jack) Hardy. He was predeceased by his parents John and Mary, an infant sister and his mother-in-law Lela Little. There will be no funeral service. Please remember a special moment you shared with Brian as your final farewell. Cremation has taken place and interment will be at a later date.
