Obituary

KRAHN: John D. Krahn of Brandon, passed away at the Brandon Regional Health Centre on Wednesday, October 19, 2005. John is survived by; his loving wife, Mildred, three daughters, their families and one sister. The Ceremony to Celebrate John's Life will be held at Richmond Park Mennonite Brethren Church, 1525-26th Street, on Monday, October 24, 2005 at 1:30 pm. A time of visitation will be held one hour prior to the Ceremony. Pastor David Ens will officiate. Interment will be held in the Brandon Cemetery. Flowers are gratefully declined. Friends who wish may make a donation in memory of John to the Gideon's Brandon Camp, P.O. Box 20060, Brandon, Manitoba R7A 5Y8. Complete obituary information will follow. KRAHN: John D. Krahn of Brandon, passed away at the Brandon Regional Health Centre on Wednesday, October 19, 2005. John was born in Plum Coulee, Manitoba on March 20, 1928, the son of David D. and Elizabeth Krahn. He grew up in Gnadenthal, Manitoba and worked on the family farm. He married Mildred Trinke on December 16, 1948 in Winkler, Manitoba. John was baptized in 1949. Together they raised three daughters. He spent most of his years working in sales, most recently at Murray Chev Olds, where he won the GMC Grand Sales Master Award for five consecutive years. John enjoyed nature, hiking, bird watching, fishing and spending time at Clear Lake. He and Mildred also enjoyed traveling together. Spending time with his family was very important to John. He always looked forward to his coffee time with friends. John will be lovingly remembered by: his wife, Mildred; daughters, Sharon (Vic) Peters, Sheila (Mike) Davis and Chris (Walter) Martens; grandchildren, Corrie Peters, R.J. Peters, Lyuba Solnik, Natasha Martens, and Viktoriya Martens; and sister, Elizabeth Friesen. He was predeceased by: his parents, David D. and Elizabeth Krahn; brothers, David, Jake and Ben. The Ceremony to Celebrate John's Life was held at Richmond Park Mennonite Brethren Church on Monday, October 24, 2005. Pastor David Ens officiated. Pallbearers were: R.J. Peters, Albert Krahn, Lorne Friesen, Shaun Solnik, Larry Krahn, Nathan Szuk and John Trinke. Interment followed in the Brandon Cemetery. Friends who wish, may make a donation in memory of John to the Gideons' Brandon Camp, P.O. Box 20060, Brandon, Manitoba R7A 5Y8. John's humour always lit up a room, drawing and encouraging people. His integrity and life wisdom also helped many people along the way. We, his family, will always remember his smile, wisdom and unconditional love. John, you have been the most wonderful husband, father and grandfather. We will miss you immensely and wish you all our love and blessing in your new heavenly home.
