Obituary

DYCK: The death of John Raymond Dyck occurred in Brandon on Tuesday, November 7, 2005. Ray was born on June 28, 1933 in Rosebank, Manitoba, the youngest of twelve children born to John and Agnes Dyck. Though deaf from the age of ten, Ray attended school and later Bible School. He was brilliant and able to recite from memory, poetry and hymns, which he learned at an early age. He had a vast vocabulary that never ceased to grow and increase. Throughout his life, Ray farmed, then did casual labour in several places including Vermillion, AB' Meadow Lake, SK; Halifax, NS and Brandon, MB. He made friends everywhere he went, for he was generous to a fault, often going without himself, in order to give to others. He lived by the adage "Love conquers all" every day of his life. In his final few years, Ray was blessed to live with Mary & Roy Wright, who cared for, enriched and enhanced his life, and whom he loved very much. Ray was predeceased by: his parents; two sisters, Clara and Martha; and three brothers, infant Johnny, Abe and Dave. Ray will be sadly missed and always remembered by his five surviving sisters, Helen, Mary, Hannah, Elda and Doris; one brother, Ed, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. The Funeral Ceremony will be held at Memories Chapel, 330-18th Street North, on Saturday, November 12, 2005 at 2:00 pm. Pastor Will Feldbush will officiate. Burial will take place at a later date in Vermillion, AB. Flowers are gratefully declined. Friends who wish may make a donation in memory of Ray to the Salvation Army, 9 Princess Avenue, Brandon, Manitoba R7A 1R8. These would have been his wishes, for he knew that every now and then, everyone needs a helping hand. Expressions of sympathy may be forwarded to memorieschapel@mts.net. Arrangements are with Memories Chapel & Pre-Planning Centre, 727-0330. Memorials
