The death of John "Willie" Dyck, beloved husband of Margaret, occurred at the Brandon R egional Health Centre on Sunday, January 21, 2001. John was born at Horndean, Manitoba and raised on the family farm. His family moved to Winnipeg in 1950 where John completed his education. John met Margaret in Winnipeg and they were married on June 1, 1957. John's employment began in sales, which eventually lead him into the bread industry. He was employed with Weston's Bakeries as a bread salesman between 1967 and 1989. In 1989 he retired due to ill health. Over the years John was a member of the Army and Navy Legion and a long-time member of the Brandon Club where he served as president for a short time. Fishing, camping, curling, bowling and shuffleboard were some of the activities he enjoyed. John is survived by and will lovingly be remembered by his wife, Margaret of Brandon; daughters: Sheila (Alfred) Van Sluytman, Toronto, Ontario and Cheryl (Doug) Berry, Glenboro, Manitoba; mother Nettie Dyck, Winnipeg, Manitoba; step-sons: Maurice (Linda) Blomme, Winnipeg, Manitoba and William (Marline) Neil, Cypress River, Manitoba; grandchildren: Donna (Bill) Warren, Tanya Talaga (David Ellis), Yuri Talaga, Chad (Jacki) Berry, and Christine Berry. Also surviving are sister Verna; 4 great-grandchildren; 11 step-grandchildren and 5 step great-grandchildren. He was predeased by his father Jacob; sister Joanne; a brother; and twin sisters at birth. The Memorial Service will be held at Memories Chapel, 330-18th Street North, on Friday, January 26, 2001 at 11:00 am. with Arlene Robertson officiating. Interment will follow in the Brandon Cemetery.
