COOPER: John Wesley (Jack) Cooper, of Brandon passed away peacefully on December 20, 1998 at the Assiniboine Centre, at age 73 years. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife Edith (Sid) of 42 years: daughters; Beverly (Eric) Soprovich, Jordan, Benjamin and Patrick; Karen (Graham) Corley-Smith, Kelly and Tanya; Susan (Darcy) Ready, Richelle, Shandra, Tarina and Owen. He is survived by his brother, Robert (Joyce), sister, Margaret and mother-in-law Sarah Bruce. Also sharing the loss are many nieces and nephews and special friends of Jack and Edith Cooper. Jack was born on March 3, 1925 in the farm home of his parents, Arthur Wesley (1982) and Mary Elizabeth (1973). Jack moved to Brandon and worked for the C.P.R.. He married Edith on June 30, 1956 at Poplar Point and they continued to live in Brandon. He worked as a car salesman from 1963 to 1983. Jack then became a school bus driver, a job he enjoyed until his retirement in 1991. After retirement, Jack and Edith enjoyed their time together travelling and camping in their trailer and in recent years, their motorhome. Jack was a devoted family man, who would travel to attend events of his daughters and his grandchildren. He was a ball player, curler and an avid golfer and was well known at the Brandon Curling Club and Glenlea Golf Course. Jack will be missed by all. The Ceremony in memory of Jack will be held at Central United Church on Monday, December 28, 1998 at 1:30 pm. The Rev. Gordon Stevenson will officiate. Interment will follow in the Rosewood Memorial Gardens. Flowers are gratefully declined.
