LACEY: It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our dear Joanne on Sunday, November 4, 2007, following a courageous battle with cancer. At the time of her passing she was surrounded by loved ones. Joanne was born on May 1, 1946, the youngest daughter of Harry and Agnes Hodgson. In 1968, she married the love of her life, Ron and they were blessed with a son Tod and a daughter Nancy. Joanne's early years included a brief career with Manitoba Hydro, a slightly longer career with the Royal Bank and many fun and interesting years farming and raising her family. About this time Joanne met the "Lord" and her life, as well as many others, were never the same. She "lived" her faith and devoted her life to the Lord, her family, friends and anyone in need. Joanne had a rare gift for making friends and nurturing those friendships to last a lifetime. Joanne has three precious grandchildren: Carson, Brooklyn, and Easton whom she loved dearly and always made sure they knew it. She was predeceased by her mother and father; a baby sister Eileen and a grandbaby Noah. Joanne leaves to cherish her memory, Ron, Tod (Colleen), Nancy (Jeff); Easton, Carson, and Brooklyn; sisters Joyce Tait, Geraldine Hurst, Carol Barton (Clarence) and many nieces, nephews, and many, many friends. Joanne leaves us the legacy of a remarkable life. We will all be forever grateful to have been a part of it. The Ceremony to Celebrate Joanne's Life was held on Thursday, November 8, 2007 at Calvary Temple. Pastors Bill Pipke and Gary Jennings officiated. Eulogy was given by Sandra Barrett. A luncheon and a time of fellowship followed the ceremony. A private interment was held at the Brandon Cemetery. Donations in Joanne's memory may be made to the Brandon Regional Health Centre, Foundation, Palliative Care, 150 McTavish Avenue East, Brandon, Manitoba, R7A 2B3 or to a charity of choice. Expressions of sympathy may be made at www.memorieschapel.com. Arrangements were with Memories Chapel & Pre-Planning Centre, 727-0330. Memorials
