The death of Jennie Martinook (nee Labiuk) occurred at the Assiniboine Centre in Brandon, Manitoba on Friday, July 5, 2002. Jennie was born, one of five children to John and Anne Labiuk in Mountain Road, Manitoba of February 28, 1923. Her favorite pastime was the joy of her family. Jennie was predeceased by her parents John and Anne, and her brother, Mike. Jennie is survived by her children, Marilyn (Dennis) McLeod, Judy Martinook, Sydney (Dean) Chapman, and Barbara Martinook. She also leaves to mourn her passing her sisters, Teenie, Polly, and Mary; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held at the Brandon Cemetery on Tuesday, July 9 at 11:00 a.m. Fr. Norberto Monton and Deacon John McKenzie of St. Augustine's Roman Catholic Church will officiate. Flowers are gratefully declined. Those who wish may make a donation in memory of Jennie to a charity of one's choice. Arrangements are with Memories Chapel & Pre-Planning Centre, 727-0330.
