Obituary

Jeannine Louisa Marie Keown passed away on Saturday, November 25, 2000 at the Brandon Regional Health Centre. She and Cliff were married 43 years. Jeannine was born January 16, 1934 in Vonda, Saskatchewan to Henry and Anne Gastonguay. The family moved to Manitoba in 1937. They lived in Regent, Hartney and Elgin Manitoba. Jeannine completed her grade 12 education in Elgin. She worked at the Bank of Commerce from 1951 to 1957 when she moved to Brandon. She then worked for the Brandon General Hospital from 1975 to 1993. Jeannine was very active with the Wheat Kings Booster Dances and the Central Community Centre. She and her husband Cliff enjoyed harness racing, cards, and auctions. She had many friendships and was always hospitable to her sons friends. She also had great interest in family history. Jeannine is survived by three sons, Brian (Deb), Keith (June) and Lawrence (Carla). Grandchildren Sherry (Fontaine), Steven, Tony and Samantha, her sisters Faye Boychuk, and Louise Vandoorne, as well as her brother Fred Gastonguay. She was pre-deceased by her husband, Clifford Keown and her parents Omer and Nan Gastonguay. Flowers are gratefully declined. Donations in memory of Jeannine may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, 415 1st Street, Brandon, Manitoba R7A 2W8. The Funeral Service will be held at Memories Chapel, 330 - 18th Street North, on Wednesday, November 29, 2000 at 1:30 p.m. Interment will follow at the Rosewood Memorial Gardens.
