EYRES: Jean Helen Eyres passed away at Hillcrest Place on Monday, November 26, 2007. The family will be pleased to receive friends at Memories Chapel, 330-18th Street North on Thursday, November 29, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. A private graveside ceremony will be held in the Rosewood Memorial Gardens. EYRES: Jean Helen Eyres, much loved wife, mother, grandmother and friend, passed away at Hillcrest Place on Monday, November 26, 2007. Jean's loving husband of over sixty-two years was by her side. Jean was born on February 10, 1922. She was raised by her parents in the village of Carnegie, Manitoba, living and working in a small general store. She received her elementary education at Powerville School and completed her schooling at Brandon Collegiate. In 1945, Jean married her long time friend Robert Gordon Eyres. They resided on their farm in the Carnegie District from 1945 to 1974 and then moved to Brandon. Jean and Gordon were very active in the seniors community. She will be very much missed by all who knew her. Left to mourn her passing is her loving husband of sixty-two years, Gordon Eyres; son Leslie Eyres of Brandon; daughter Judy Friesen (Pete) of Carman, Manitoba; grandchildren: Wayne Friesen of Edmonton, Alberta, Jamie Friesen and great-granddaughter Ashley and Robbie Friesen all of Carman, Manitoba. Jean is also survived by her sister Marion Watts of Calgary, Alberta; sister-in-law Marjorie Grasby of Brandon and numerous nieces and nephews. Jean was predeceased by her parents Alfred and Maria; stepfather H.T. Johnson; brother Herb Watts; sister Alice St. John. A private graveside ceremony was held at Rosewood Memorial Gardens on Thursday, November 29, 2007. Mona Franklin officiated. The family received friends at Memories Chapel following the graveside.
