KORITAR: It is with profound sadness that we announce the sudden and accidental passing of Jarad Grant Koritar of Rivers, Manitoba on October 3, 2008, at 19 years of age. Jarad was born October 13, 1988 in Brandon, Manitoba. He attended Rivers Elementary School and graduated from Rivers Collegiate in 2007. Jarad was presently employed as a project management assistant with Akman Construction and planned to take construction carpentry as a trade. Jarad was an exceptionally kind and big-hearted person with an ever present smile. He was always ready to give a helping hand or offer a hug. He was a loving son and an awesome big brother and best friend to Braden. His many friends will sadly miss his warm smile and ready laughter. Jarad loved music and excelled at both piano and drums. He also enjoyed snowboarding, biking, quading and water skiing in which he competed both provincially and nationally in slalom ski competitions. It was his strong work ethic and dedication that allowed Jarad to excel in everything that made him all that he was. His love of the lake by their home also provided him with many hours of enjoyment. Jarad's unexpected death has left a huge void in the lives of those who loved him. He packed a lot into his short life and touched so many. He is survived by his loving parents Deb and Tom, brother Braden, sister Kristi, grandparents Boyd and Amy Grant (Minnedosa) and Karoly and Mary Koritar (Montreal). There are also numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. A service to honour and celebrate Jarad's life was held at Central United Church, Brandon on Wednesday October 8, 2008 with Rev. Joe Ball officiating. Flowers are gratefully declined. Donations may be made to a charity of one's choice. The urn bearer was John Lepp. Acting as honour guard were: Kyle Johnston, Brayden Johnston, Cassandra Lepp, Paul MacKay, Raelyn McIntosh, Karla Dandy, Tom Mellings and Kyle Greasley. Expressions of sympathy may be made at www.memorieschapel.com. Arrangements were with Memories Chapel & Pre-Planning Centre, 727-0330.
