CRUISE: Suddenly, on August 2, 1999, Jan was taken from us. She will be missed by all whose lives she touched, but she would wish rather to be remembered for the joy and happiness that she shared. Jan was a quiet, yet intense individual whose passions ranged from reading, cooking and travelling, to racquetball and golf. Her love for the game of racquetball was evident to all that had the joy of playing with her. Her intense love of a challenge was also reflected in the many games of cards that she shared with friends. Jan loved to entertain and the many who were invited to their home will always remember the warmth and hospitality that typified an evening with Jan and Jack. A tour of the yard would confirm the joy that Jan had for her garden and for the wonderful summer weather in Manitoba. All of her interests never overshadowed her happiest times, which were spent quietly at home with her soul mate Jack. Together they shared all that they did, thought and felt. Their relationship was so special that the words "Jack and Jan" were spoken as if one. Whether it be relaxing on a beach in Hawaii, sharing a glass of wine, travelling, camping or entertaining in her home, Jan shared life with family and friends, as well as her husband and best friend Jack. A Service in Remembrance of Jan will be held at Memories Chapel, 330-18th Street North, Brandon, Manitoba on Monday, August 9, 1999 at 2:00 p.m. Friends are invited to a "Celebration of Life" to be held on Thursday, August 12, 1999 at 4:00 p.m. in the Club Room at the Hotel Fort Garry, 222 Broadway, Winnipeg, Manitoba. In lieu of flowers, and in respect of Jan's love for animals, donations may be sent to the Winnipeg Humane Society, 5 Kent Street, Winnipeg, MB, R2L 1X3.
Her star now burns brightly above, made even brighter by our smiles as we remember all the times that we shared with Jan.
