CONNON: It is with heavy, loving hearts that the family of Jane (Jean) Connon, (nee Wilton) announce her passing at Fairview Home on Sunday, May 13, 2007 (Mother's Day). Jane was born on December 22, 1916 at Shoal Lake, Manitoba to William Henry Wilton and Mary Anges Talbot. She was the eldest girl of a family of five. Although her life was hard, she saw every moment as an adventure. With her family, she travelled and lived in various areas of the United States and Canada. When Jane was twelve years old, her mother passed away. This tragedy left older brother John and then Jane to take over the role of mother to a ten year old, eight year old, and fourteen month old baby. After the death of her mother, the family moved to Dryden, Ontario, where she remained until the 1950's when she moved to Brandon. After she moved to Brandon she met and married John Robertson Connon and together they made a loving home for their daughter Carma-Jean. Although she had started a new life, her heart was never far away from Dryden and the family that remained living there. Her family was very important to her and she would always put their needs ahead of her own. In 2001, Jane's medical condition did not allow her to remain living independently and she moved to Fairview Home. This move, although difficult for her, would eventually embrace the nursing staff, residents and their families into her heart and her family's as very special people in her world. Jean is survived by her daughter Carma Jean (Terry) Byczkowski; grandchildren Tyler (Jessica) and Ashleigh. She is survived by her sister Marge MacKinnon of Dryden, Ontario; brother Lawrence Wilton of Calgary, Alberta; sister-in-law Eileen Connon of Brandon. She is also survived by her aunt Ellen Milne of Brandon as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins who are left with fond memories. Jean was predeceased by her husband John in 1986; her parents, stepmother, one brother John, her sister Bertha Hardy; brothers-in-law Dan McKinnon, Bill Hardy, Keith Connon, Bill Wilson; Bill Quinn sisters-in-law Gladys Wilson, Irene Wilkie, Margaret Nadler, Prim Durnin, Alice Brandon. The Funeral Ceremony was held at Memories Chapel on Friday, May 18, 2007. Rev. Shannon McCarthy officiated. Interment followed in the Brandon Cemetery. Donations in memory of Jean may be made to Fairview Home - Fourth Floor, 1351-13th Street, Brandon, Manitoba R7A 4S6 or to a charity of choice.
