James "Jim" Douglas Wood of Rivers, beloved husband of the late Marion Wood, passed away peacefully at Riverdale Personal Care Home on Friday, June 16th, 2017, aged 95 years. Jim will be lovingly remembered and missed by his children, Irving Wood and wife Arlene of Rivers, Roxy (deceased) husband Doug Wellner of Springfield, Minnesota, and Alison of Melbourne, Australia. Grandchildren, Christine, Bryce, John, David, Kate and their partners. Great grandchildren, Julia, Campbell and Jonah, as well as many nieces and nephews. Jim was born in the Bradwardine area and farmed there for 50 years. He was a keen participant in both communities during his lifetime, an active member of Ancrum and later St. James Church, and a life time member of the Royal Canadian Legion. Jim was an active member of the curling and golf clubs. A private family interment was held at the Ancrum Cemetery, followed by a Come and Go Reception at the Rivers Royal Canadian Legion on Monday, July 17th, 2017.
