Obituary

ROSE: James Wesley "Wes" Rose passed away at the Bandon Regional Health Centre on Sunday, June 19, 2005. Wes was born in Napinka, Manitoba on November 13, 1925 the son of Ebor and Annie Rose. He was raised in Napinka and received his education there. Wes started with the CPR as an operator in 1944. He worked in various communities in Manitoba and Saskatchewan before retiring in 1985, after working faithfully for 41 years. Wes belonged to Seniors for Seniors, CPR Pensioners, Walter Spence Group and Hillcrest Volunteer Activities. He was formerly involved with the Bluebirds Club, Seniors Slow Pitch, Curling, and the Westbran Project. Wes also took personal interest courses at Assiniboine Community College over the years. He was an avid fan of the Brandon Wheat Kings, Marlins Baseball, and the Winnipeg Blue Bombers. He enjoyed gardening, farm work, reading, playing with his grandchildren, travelling, camping, golfing and people. He also volunteered at all major organized sporting events in Brandon. Wes' joys in life revolved around family and friends and he always looked for the sunny side of life. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Hazel; children, Karen (Greg) Benham, Donna (Murray) Eastoe and Dale (Diniece) Rose; grandchildren, Kevin Eastoe, Andrea Malinowski, Phillip Rose, and Bradley Rose. He will also be greatly missed by his sister, Madeline Jones; numerous brothers and sisters-in-law, and many nieces and nephews. Wes was predeceased by his parents, Ebor and Annie; brothers, Clarence and Archie; and sisters, Grace, Phyllis and Margaret. The ceremony to celebrate Wes' life will be held at Memories Chapel, 330-18th Street North, on Wednesday, June 22, 2005 at 2:00 pm. Pastor Ted Jannuska of Redeemer Lutheran Church will officiate. Interment will follow in the Brandon Cemetery. Donations in memory of Wes may be made to one of his favorite charities, Samaritan House Ministries, 630 Rosser Avenue, Brandon, Manitoba R7A 0K7.
