POWELL: Jim Powell passed away peacefully at his residence with his family at his side, on Friday, March 19, 2004. James Frank Wilmert Powell was born on July 30, 1938 in the R.M. of Brenda, Manitoba, son of William and Marjorie Powell. As a teenager, he attended school and worked on a farm in the Rivers area. Jim became employed as a tradesman with Jaska Construction for fifteen years and then as a caretaker with Argyle Courts for the past thirty years. Jim was an honest, hard working dedicated person who enjoyed the simple things in life. Anybody who knew Jim liked him for those reasons. Jim is survived by his wife Mary Jane; daughter, Joanne (Len) MacDonald, Jennifer Powell (Bryce Wood). He deeply loved his three grandchildren, Ryleigh, Caeleigh and Baby Breton MacDonald. Jim also leaves his brother, Ed (Evelyn) Powell and sisters; Shirley (Jack) Hutton, Diane (Barry) Jackson and Marg (Joe) Harrison. He was predeceased by, his parents, William and Marjorie. The Ceremony to Celebrate Jim's Life will be held at Memories Chapel, 330-18th Street North on Thursday, March 25, 2004 at 2:30 pm. Pastor Gord Hallett of Grand Valley Community Church will officiate. Friends who wish may make a donation in memory of Jim to the Brandon Regional Health Centre, for Palliative Care, 150 McTavish Avenue East, Brandon, MB R7A 2B3.
