Obituary

Peacefully, during the night of Friday, July 15, 2016, James William Muir passed away in Brandon, Manitoba. Born June 3, 1954 in Winnipeg, Manitoba, the eldest son of Doreen and Lorne Muir, Jim was raised and educated in Dauphin, Manitoba. He has been a resident of Brandon since 1980. You could not wish to meet a more friendly and cheerful person. Jim will forever be remembered by his brothers John (Carole) and Larry; his step-brother Rick Kilmury (Debbie); his mother and step-father, Doreen and Doug Bottley, his numerous daily social workers, house mates and especially his favourite case worker, Cathy Shoemaker. The staff and workers at Ventures will also fondly remember Jim, where he attended and received gratifying pleasure three days a week. Also remembering Jim's kindness and caring attitude in life will be his uncle Roy (Phyllis) McMillan and family in Calgary, his aunt Lolly and her family, also in Alberta, his cousins Turchie and Norm Mathe and family in Dauphin, MB. The Memorial Service took place at Memories Chapel on Thursday, August 11, 2016. Interment was in the Dauphin Riverside Cemetery on Friday, August 12, 2016, next to his grandmother Evelyn McMillan. Any donations would be welcomed at Ventures, 700 Frederick Street, Brandon, MB R7A 5L4.
