On Sunday, July 19, 2026, James Beverley Wray, at the age of 90, left this world exactly as he lived it: on his own terms.

He was born May 18, 1936 on the family farm in Margaret, Manitoba to parents James Albert Wray and Muriel Rose Emma Wray.

Jim had a zest in life to achieve. Everything he set his mind to do, he did it successfully. At an early age, Jim wanted to build his own name by starting his own business. He first started Wray’s Electrical, then years later with his passion for being outdoors, he redirected his interests and opened Brandon Sports Center. Jim loved all his adventures. In the early years his passions included travelling the world in his plane, camping, snowmobiling, boating, and fishing. As he grew older, he enjoyed the simpler things in life; sitting back and observing.

He was preceded in death by his son Gary.

He is survived by many: his wife Pearl; children Cindy, Karen, and families; stepchildren Bev, Raymond, Karen, Susan, Tracey, and families; as well as many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Join us as we trade tears for laughter and celebrate the incredible life of Jim on Saturday, August 1, 2026 at 12:00 PM at Memories Chapel 330-18th Street North Brandon, MB.
