EDWARDS: James "Jim" Forrest Edwards, beloved husband of Noreen, passed away following a courageous battle on Friday, April 9, 2004 at Red Deer. AB, with his family by his side. Jim was born on July 15, 1934 in Hamiota, Manitoba to David and Bessie Edwards and was raised in the Tarbolton District. In 1962 he married Noreen "Reenie" Wood. Jim worked the family farm for many years. The family then moved to Rivers where he worked in the community. Jim then became employed with the Department of Highways until his retirement. He took great pride in his years with highways where he made many new friends. Jim had many passions in life. He was well known for his orthodox pitch in his baseball days. He also loved to curl, auctioneer, play musical instruments and sing Scottish songs at various functions. His favorite pastime was golf. Jim found much enjoyment in the challenge of various golf courses. His happiest moments were spent with his family. They enjoyed several years of camping, fishing and family vacations. Their trip to Scotland to meet relatives was one of his fondest memories. Jim is survived by: his loving wife of 41 years, Noreen; three children and eight grandchildren, Brent (Robyn) Cole, Brody Rayna of Sylvan Lake, AB and Brittany of Brandon, MB; Shauna (Ken) Jaydon, Josh Tait of Neepawa, MB; Teresa (Karl), Shayla, Regan Eisler of Red Deer, AB. He is also survived by his sister, Mary; sister-in-law, Eileen; brothers-in-law, Jim, Les, Harvey, Reg and families. He will also be remembered by many nieces, nephews, dear friends and neighbors. Jim was predeceased by: his parents, brothers, Bill and David; and special sister-in-law, Judy. A Celebration of Jim's Life will be held at the St. James Anglican Church, Rivers, MB on Thursday, April 15, 2004 at 1:30 p.m. Rev. Paul Curtis will officiate. Interment will follow in the Rivers Cemetery.
