Obituary

DILLABOUGH: James Stanley Dillabough passed away September 10, 2012 with his family by his side. Jim was born in Deloraine, MB August 11, 1931 to Verna and James Dillabough. Jim grew up on the family farm in Dand, MB with his five brothers - Rod, Bob, John, Wayne and Murray. Growing up, Jim was interested in sports especially hockey. On July 6, 1955 he married Florence Neilsen of Goodlands. They resided on the Dand family farm until 1956 then moved to Deloraine where Jim was employed by J.V Seippe. In 1960 they left Deloraine and moved to Minnedosa where he was employed by the Dillabough Bros. In August 1960, they returned to Deloraine where he joined the staff of D & M Motors and was employed there for 10 years. In 1974 Jim and Florence moved their family to Brandon where Jim worked as a truck driver for Cumming and Dobbie for 11 years. Jim was also an instructor for a truck driving course at Assiniboine Community College. Due to health issues Jim was forced into an early retirement. Jim is survived by his wife Florence, his sons Jamie (Lorraine), Brian (Chris), his daughters Brenda (Randy) and Sheri (Kelly); his grandchildren: Brennen, Tawny, Erika, Sarah, Kelsey and Dolan (Chelsey); great granddaughters: Winter and Layla. A private family service was held at the Brandon Cemetery on Friday, September 14, 2012. The family would like to express a special thanks to the nursing staff on the 3rd floor of the Assiniboine Centre for the amazing care given to Jim.
