OBIT........ FAST

The death of Jacob (Jake) Fast occurred after a lengthy illness at the Assiniboine Centre on Saturday, December 5, 1998. Jake was born , February 29, 1920 in the Village of Tiegerweide in the Molotschna, U.S.S.R. the son of Gerhard and Katharina (nee Epp) Fast. He emigrated to Canada, residing in Manitoba since 1924. Jake is survived by his wife Katharina (Tena), three sons and one daughter: Leonard his wife Mary Anne (nee Riedeger) of Coaldale, AB and their children, Rachel (Darcy) Siebert, great grandson, James, Granddaughter, Lisa (Dean) Goertzen, granddaughter, Rebecca; Henry and wife Antoinette (Van Kuik) of Winnipeg, grandson, Jonathan and granddaughter, Nathania; Edward and wife ede (nee Klinger) of Winnipeg and grandson, Nathan; Agatha and husband Al Doerksen of Winnipeg and granddaughters, Susan and Alison. The funeral service will be held at the McDiarmid Drive Alliance Church on Wednesday, December 9, 1998 at 11:00 am. Rev. Cloiff Bergamn will officiate. Interment will follow in the Brandon cemetery. Memorial donations in memory of Jake may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association or to the McDiarmid Drive Alliance Church, Missions Program.
