Isabel Marion Wilson (nee Patrick)
October 3, 1927 ~ May 13, 2026
Affectionately called Nanny, Shnan, Nan or Belle, our Mom, on Wednesday, May 13, 2026, stepped eagerly into the boat with paddle in hand. As she looked ahead with anticipation, she could see that the door was open, the lights were on and she could hear the joyful greeting “Here she comes!”
“I had no time to wait for death, so it kindly waited for me.” ~ E. Dickenson
Mom believed that death was not final, but merely “the boat” that would carry her across to her eternal home.
She was an extraordinary lady, a force to be reckoned with and she excelled at whatever project that she ser her mind and hands to do.
She was well known to play competitive games of whist and croquet. (as long as we were prepared to lose!) She could yodel with the best of them and loved the music of Gene Autry and My Fair Lady (an interesting contrast.)
Isabel was married to our dad Stan (Pop, Bunny) for 73 years. He passed on January 9, 2024.
She is survived by her daughters Dawn (Norm) and Dianna (David) and their families; 4 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren and her youngest brother Gene (Patrick). She lived for her family and her pets, she will be missed!!
Our sincere thanks to the staff at Valleyview. She was so fond of all of you! Mom also enjoyed meeting other residents and their families.
Thank you Patti Malchi for your helpful and kind friendship to mom. Also, thanks to Barbara who made her feel like a million! (everyone on the 3rd floor at Valleyview were aware that Wednesday was Hair Day!)
To Lori and Susan of Life Matters – you both are amazing and we could not have made it without your visits and friendship with Mom.
Thank you to Dr. Roux who was part of her early journey here and to Dr. Caplan who was there for her as she reached her journey’s end.
To Pastor Andrew and Stephen Black - Thank you for your visits and prayers. Mom would look forward to seeing you.
Cremation has taken place and a family farewell will be held in Saskatchewan at a later time.
“Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with me.” (Rev 3:20)
“Catch you later” ….
