MCKAY: Irene Wilhelmina (Peggy) McKay died February 3, 2000 at the Assiniboine Centre. Born January 24, 1925 in Brandon, she attended Central and Earl Haig Schools. Peggy worked for the Wheat City Tannery, Brandon General Hospital, and Brandon University. Peggy was predeceased by her parents, Henry and Mary Elstow; brothers Charles and Louis; and sisters Irene and Frances. Surviving her are two sons, three grandsons, two sisters, several nieces and nephews, and many friends. Fr. Victor Yakowchuk of St. Mary's Ukrainian Catholic Church officiated the private graveside service arranged by Memories Chapel. Flowers are graciously declined. Donations may be made in Peggy's memory to the Canadian Diabetes Association, 727B - 10th Street, Brandon, R7A 4G7.
