Obituary

RUSINOWICZ: Ignacy passed away on November 12, 2000 at the age of 86 years. Ignacy was born in Lachowka, Poland in May of 1914. From 1939 to 1945 he served in World War II. While in the army he served as a tank driver in places such as Italy, Iran and Iraq, Palestine and Egypt. In 1947 he moved to Canada. Ignacy resided in Brandon and was employed with the Canadian Pacific Railway in 1951 until his retirement in 1979. He will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his family. Ignacy is survived by his wife, Sophie, of 51 years, his five children, daughter-in-law and three grandchildren. Prayers were said at Memories Chapel, 330 - 18th Street North, Tuesday, November 14, 2000 at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Hedwig's Roman Catholic Church, Thursday, November 16, 2000 at 10:30 a.m. Celebrant will be Rev. Fr. Anthony Korewa. Interment will follow at the Brandon Cemetery. Donations in memory of Ignacy may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, 415 - 1st Street, Brandon, MB R7A 6R5.
