Obituary

Hugh Wallace Fergusson 1936 - 200_ passed away on ______at home, in his65th year after a short struggle with cancer. He was predeceased by his parents, Norman W. and Elma K. Fergusson. Hugh is survived by his wife of 42 years, Myrtle W. (nee Lang); sons, Lloyd N. of Winnipeg; and Eric R. of Brandon. Hugh attended Central School, Earl Haig and The Brandon Collegiate Institute. He was a life-long resident of Brandon, with the exception of one year while with the Canadian Pacific Railway at the Winnipeg Roundhouse. Hugh was there when one era (steam) in railroading yielded to the next (diesel) and had a lifetime of memories to show for it, and was fortunate to have worked and learned from that generation of railroaders. Like so many in the late 1950's he had to find work elsewhere. After a short period at Canada Post and the Brandon School Division #40 he retired on September 20, 2000 with just over 30 years as a water treatment plant operator with the City of Brandon. The Graveside Service will be held at the Brandon Cemetery . Donations in memory of Hugh may be made to a charity of choice. Arrangements are with Memories Chapel & Pre-Planning Centre, 727-0330.
