Obituary

GUDZ: The death of Herb Gudz, beloved husband of Sophie, father of Garry and Janice, occurred at the Brandon Regional Health Centre, Friday, June 9, 2006. Funeral Service will be held at St. Augustine's Roman Catholic Church, 327 4th Street on Wednesday, June 14, 2006 at 10:00 am. Deacon John MacKenzie will officiate. A private family interment will follow at the Brandon Cemetery Columbarium. Donations in memory of Herb may be made to Brandon Riverbank Inc., #1 545 Conservation Drive, Brandon, Manitoba R7A 7L8 or Brandon Humane Society 2200 17th Street East, Brandon, Manitoba R7A 7M6. GUDZ: It is with great sadness we announce the sudden passing of our husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather Herb Gudz. Herb passed away at the Brandon Regional Health Centre on Friday, June 9, 2006. He was born May 23, 1930 in Brandon, the first child of Andrew and Lily Gudz. He was raised and educated in Brandon. In 1948, he started working with the C.P.R. as a wiper and retired in 1990 as an engineer on the Via. He was a member of the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers, the Polish Sokol Hall, Riverbank Discovery Centre and U.C.T. He was predeceased by his father and mother and brother-in-law Mike Badowich. He is survived by his wife Sophie; Son Garry; Daughter Janice (Brad Langston); Grandsons Kevin Gudz, Rob Langston (friend Cherie) and Stephen Langston; Granddaughter Kori (Darryl Oliver); Great Grandson Bryce Gudz; Sister Mary (Bernie Wielgosh); Brother Frank (Connie); Sister-in-law Bernice Badowich; many nieces and nephews. The Funeral Service was held at St. Augustine's Roman Catholic Church on Wednesday, June 14, 2006 at 10:00 am. Deacon John MacKenzie officiated. Honorary Pallbearers were all those in attendance. A private family interment was held at the Brandon Cemetery Columbarium.
