CANTY: Herbert (Herb) Brian Canty passed away suddenly on Friday, January 17, 2003 in the Health Science Centre, Winnipeg, at the age of 49 years. Herb was born in Brandon, Manitoba on June 11, 1953 and was raised in both Brandon and Calgary. He resided in Brandon for 28 years. Herb is survived by his beloved wife, Karen; son, Ryan; daughters, Kristin (Brett Hay) and Kelly; and mother, Evelyn Canty of Vernon, BC. Herb is also survived by his sisters, Judy Canty of Vernon, BC, Kathy Hourie (Roald Aho) of Winnipeg; sister-in-law, Lorraine Canty of Calgary; aunts, Margaret Miller of Fort Frances, ON, Lois Grant of Creston, BC, Dorothy Canty of Brandon and Grace Young of Roseland; and uncle, Doug (Cynthia) Pigg of Brandon. Nieces and nephews, David, Darcy, Michelle and Holly of Winnipeg; Carrie and Michael of Calgary; Meghan of Surrey, BC and special niece Sierra of Winnipeg; as well, numerous cousins also survive him. He was predeceased by his father, Bill in 1975 and brother, Bill in 2000; uncles and aunts, Tim, Dick and Ann Canty, Kathleen and Gina Young; grandparents, early Brandon pioneers, Timothy and Margaret (Noonan) Canty and Herbert and Elyabeth (McKay) Pigg. Herb will always be remembered by his many friends and relatives for his great sense of humour. He loved the outdoors, baseball, and fishing. Herb will be missed by all who knew him. A time of visitation will be held at Memories Chapel, 330-18th Street N., on Wednesday, January 22, 2003 from 7:30 - 8:30 pm.
