PATERSON: Helen Mary "Nell" Paterson, widow of the late William "Bill" Paterson, of Brandon, passed away at the Brandon Regional Health Centre on Thursday, July 27, 2000. Nell was born in Isabella, Manitoba on July 10, 1921 the eldest daughter to David and Mary (nee Craig) Blelloch. She attended school in Isabella, Lavina, and Kelloe. Nell then started working for families in and around Kelloe, Manitoba eventually working for her future in Laws. She moved to Brandon November 11, 1945 to continue working. Nell has resided in the same house since that time. She married William Allen "Bill" Paterson on November 19, 1960. Nell loved her garden and knitting. She was a season ticket holder of the Brandon Wheat Kings, Brandon Cloverleafs, and Brandon Marlins. She had attended all of the games at the Brandon Marlin July 1st Tournament this past June 30 and July 1. Nell is survived by her brothers: David (Evelyn) of Port Alberni, British Columbia, Robert (Isabel) and Thomas of Birtle; and sister Sarah Harley of Brandon. Numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews; and sister-in-law Ellen Russell of Brandon also survive. Nell was predeceased by her husband Bill in April, 1981; her parents; one brother John; one niece; one nephew; and one great nephew. The ceremony to celebrate Nell's life will be held at Memories Chapel, 330 - 18th Street North, on Wednesday, August 2, 2000 at 2:30 p.m. Arlene Robertson of First Presbyterian Church will officiate. All in attendance are considered honorary pallbearers. Interment will follow at the Brandon Cemetery.
