MUMMERY: The death of Helen Mary Mummery of Brandon, beloved wife of William and dear mother of Kerry, occurred at her residence on Tuesday, June 1, 2004. A graveside service will be held at the Brandon Cemetery on Saturday, June 5, 2004 at 2:00 p.m. The Rev. Paul Sakasov will officiate. MUMMERY: Helen Mary Ruth Mummery (nee MacKenzie) passed away at her residence in Brandon on Tuesday, June 1, 2004, after a courageous battle with cancer. Helen was born on December 4, 1930, the youngest of three daughters, in Ninette, MB to Dan and Florence MacKenzie. After completing high school in Ninette, Helen moved to Brandon where she met and married her husband, Bill. Together they moved to Kenora, ON in 1951 where they lived for 27 years before returning to Brandon in 1978. Helen is survived by: her husband of 53 years, Bill; son Kerry; daughter-in-law, Christine and granddaughters, Jessica and Megan of Rockhampton, Australia. She is predeceased by: her parents and her sisters, Rita Black and Marjorie Cowan. Helen was a generous giving person who will be missed by all who knew her.
