Obituary

CREEK: In loving memory of Heather Margaret Creek (nee Tomlinson) born March 18th, 1957 in Boston, England. After a long and courageous battle with cancer, the angels made her one of them on October 18th, 2004 at the age of 47 years. She is survived and sadly missed by: the love of her life, husband of 27 years, Brian Creek; daughters Michelle (Andrew) Singfat and Heidi Creek (Darrel Kilbride); son Timothy Creek; grandchildren Logan and Austin Singfat, all of Brandon, Manitoba. She is also survived by sister Deidre (Robin) Szymura; nephew Brandon and niece Eden all of Oxford, England; parents Margaret and Bryan Tomlinson from Spalding, England and many cherished friends from all across the world. Dad and Mom met when they were 14 years old in England and since that day they had been inseparable. They married at the young age of 19 on January 15, 1977 and had their first child, Michelle in 1978. Then in 1980 they had their second child Heidi. In 1981, Mom and Dad sold everything and moved to Canada with five suitcases, living in Lynn Lake for nine months, then Leaf Rapids for six years where she met many of her life-long friends. In 1986 she had her third child, Timothy. In 1987, we all packed up and moved to Selkirk. There Mom worked at the CIBC bank and eventually found a place of work she absolutely loved; Searle Green Houses. Though she wasn't much of a green thumb, she of course just loved the smell of flowers and enjoyed all the people she worked with. In 1993, Dad was transferred by Manitoba Hydro to Brandon. Here we set up life and a final home for our mom. Once again, she found a wonderful place of work at McKenzie Seeds. Mom would come home every day with a big smile on her face telling us that she made a customer smile or tell us how much she meant to the McKenzie Seeds Company. Mom was always our bright shining star touching everyone's heart that met or even talked to her. We are all going to sadly miss her. The Ceremony to Celebrate Heather's Life will be held at Memories Chapel, 330 18th Street North, on Wednesday, October 27, 2004 at 3:00 p.m. Rev. Laird Russell-Yearwood will officiate. Placement of her cremated remains will take place in the Brandon Cemetery Columbarium. Friends who wish may make a donation in memory of Heather to the Canadian Cancer Society Manitoba Division, 193 Sherbrook Street, Winnipeg MB R3C 2B7. Expressions of sympathy may be forwarded to memorieschapel@mts.net. Arrangements are with Memories Chapel & Pre-Planning Centre, 727-0330. Memorials
