Haven Harvey Brugger was born February 19,1937 to Harvey and Anna Brugger. Family life began on the farm south of Minnedosa with his three siblings Joyce (Cameron), Dennis, and Lorraine (Good). Haven fell in love with Madeline Knight and were married on May 30, 1959. They began their lives together in Flin Flon, Manitoba and their two darling children, Ken and Brenda, were born there. They moved to Brandon in the fall of 1966 where Haven began a 33-year career at the Simplot fertilizer company. Retired at age 59, Haven has spent the past 30 years traveling to many places (especially Oklahoma). Haven was famously known for his story-telling abilities (some exaggerations included) and his many descriptive and unusual phrases that brought about much laughter from numerous listeners. Being a man of faith was very important to Haven. He was a diligent member of Bethel Christian Assembly for many years and was not afraid to share his thoughts with anyone who might listen. Haven left this world and entered Heaven Tuesday evening, June 9th, 2026.
He was predeceased by his parents, and his brother, Dennis.
He is survived by his wife, Madeline; his son, Ken Brugger (Michelle); his daughter, Brenda (Tim) McKitrick; three granddaughters: Victoria (Nolan) Smith, Jayme (Andrew) Synyshyn, and Kaitlyn (Phillip) Pierson; along with 5 very special great-grandchildren, Myla, Roman, Ruby Synyshyn, and Ethan and David Smith; and his 2 sisters, Joyce Cameron and Lorraine Good.
A time of visitation will be held at Memories Chapel, 330-18th Street North, Brandon on Thursday, June 18, 2026, from 7:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.
The Celebration of Haven's Life will take place at Bethel Christian Assembly, 440 Richmond Avenue, Brandon on Friday, June 19, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. A private interment will be at Smoland Cemetery.
Donations in memory of Haven may be made to a charity of choice.
