WILLIAMS
Harvey "The Duke" Williams passed away peacefully at the Brandon Regional Health Centre on Sunday, May 23, 1999. Harvey was born in Athabasca, Alberta on June 22, 1944, son of Raymond and Margaret Williams. He received his education in Athabasca and then farmed there for a number of years. He was then employed with various trucking firms for the past twenty-five years, the past thirteen years with Paul's Hauling in Brandon. Harvey was a member of St. Matthew's Cathedral in Brandon. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, carpentry, gardening and yardwork. He especially enjoyed his family and his grandchildren. Surviving are: his wife Ellen and his children; Darrell Harvey Williams, Dwayne Adair (Amy) Williams, Amber Star Simpson (Darren), William George "Bill" Williams and fiance' Anna Dyck, Mellissa Dawn Williams and fiance' Chris Smith and Velvet Rose Williams. Grandchildren: Aidea Lee Williams, Keenan Noble Williams, Jenna Asia Williams, Roman James Simpson, Scarlet Star Simpson, Sapphire Brooke Simpson and Aurora May Smith. He also leaves his father, Raymond Williams of Athabasca, AB and his maternal grandfather, John Penner of Kelowna, BC. Brothers and Sisters: Les (Danah) of Edmonton; Doug of Athabasca; David (Elaine) of Edmonton; Don (Shirley) of Calgary; Ronald (Rhonda) of Calgary; Glen (Claudette) of Edmonton; Thelma Gambler of Slave Lake, AB; Darlene Williams of Calgary; Barbara Cooper (Michael) and Glenda Williams of Edmonton. There are numerous nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles. Harvey was predeceased by his mother, Margaret "Annie" Williams, his brother, Gerald "Rimp" Williams, granddaughter, Rebecca Hope Rennie, father-in-law, Roman Lathan and nieces, Tiffany Cooper and Beverley Gambler. A time of visitation was held at Memories Chapel on Wednesday, May 26, 1999 from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. The funeral ceremony was held at St. Matthew's Cathedral on Thursday, May 27, 1999. The Very Rev. Jim Njegovan officiated. Interment followed in the Brandon Cemetery.
