MICHALUK: Harry Michaluk, of Rivers, Manitoba, passed away at the Brandon Regional Health Centre on Thursday, November 18, 2004. Harry was born, on November 1, 1929 in Sturgis, Saskatchewan, to Andrew and Pearl Michaluk. The family moved to Portage La Prairie when he was eight years old, and he attended elementary and high school there. Harry continued his education and took welding and heavy duty mechanics in Winnipeg. He worked in the construction field in Winnipeg, with CNR shops and moved to Brandon where he continued to work for CNR until his retirement. Harry loved nature, hiking and fishing. He was a highly skilled craftsman in wood and metal as well as being able to repair almost any type of device. He loved to read and had a keen interest in what was going on in the world around him. He will be deeply missed by his wife, Margaret; sons, Harold, Richard (Collette), James, and Thomas; daughters, Kimberly (Virgil) and Karen (Henry). Harry will also be missed by his grandchildren, Catriona, Allison, Nicole, Kali, Dillon (Jasmin), Darby, Dirk (Brandi), Kristyn, Matthew, and Aaron; great grandchildren, Rory and Ethan and brother, Max. He was predeceased by his parents, Andrew and Pearl Michaluk; sisters, Katie, Mary and Ann; brothers Steve, William, Matt, and Nick. A private family service was held at Memories Chapel on Sunday, November 21, 2004.
