Harold Edmond Clark passed away in his 75th year at the Assiniboine Centre, Brandon, on May 30, 2001. Harold was one of nine children born to Harry and Bessie Clark in Livelong, Saskatchewan. He was born April 4, 1926. The family moved to Brandon when he was 16. He worked as a farm hand for a number of summers and numerous other jobs for the winter months. He was then employed by the British American Oil Company for ten years. He started his own business, Clark Septic Service in 1959 and later Brandon Asphalt Paving along with the suite rental business. Harold was very active in the community; past Senior Councillor of the U.C.T. #448, Past U.C.T. Grand Councillor of Manitoba, Saskatchewan and Alberta. Past president of Travellers Parade Association of which he worked on for many years. He was a member of Fenwich Masonic Lodge #158 as a Master Mason. He continued on to be a member of the Shrine and was a Past President of the Brandon Shrine Club Car Patrol. He was a past member of S.P.E.B.S.Q.S.A. Barber Shoppers and really loved a good evening with piano, banjo, violin, guitar and song. Harold retired in 1980, building his cottage at Brandosa Beach, where he spent the summer months enjoying golf and making many new friends. Harold spent 20 winters in Indio, California, he enjoyed the many friends he made, his workshop and other activities in the park, and time spent with his buddy Ted Good. He always said he had the best of two worlds. Ill health forced him to sell his home in California and the cottage at Minnedosa. Moving to his new home in Monterey Estates, he looked forward to community gatherings and making more new friends. He will be sadly missed by his wife of 52 years, Phyllis; his son Larry and wife Suzanne, and granddaughter Julie; his son Wesley and wife Beverley, and grandson Kevin and granddaughter Krista; son Dwane and wife Janet, granddaughter Kelsey and grandson David; sister Betty and husband Bob MacFarlane, sister Ruth and husband Lester Harris, brothers Ross Clark, Bud Clark, Don and wife Dorothy Clark, Charlie and wife Pat Clark; sister-in-law Gay Clark, brother-in-law Doug Bartlett and sisters-in-law Alice Slator and Ruth Bartlett as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two brothers, three brothers-in-law, five sisters-in-law and one granddaughter. The funeral service was held on June 2, 2001 at Memories Chapel, in Brandon, conducted by Mona Franklin. Harold was laid to rest at Humesville Cemetery.
