HARGREAVES: Harleigh Charles Hargreaves, beloved husband of Pearl, passed away peacefully at the Brandon Regional Health Centre on March 27, 2000 at the age of 77. Harleigh was born January 13, 1923 and grew up on the family farm in the Brandon Hills District. In the fall of 1942 Harleigh joined the RCA and served until 1945. Upon returning home from the war he attended the University of Manitoba. Harleigh then purchased his own farm. Harleigh married Pearl Cunningham, October 16, 1948 and farmed in the Brandon Hills District for over 50 years. During this time he served on local boards such as Manitoba Pool Elevator, Brandon Milk Producers Association and the Brandon Hills School Board. Upon semi retirement, Harleigh and Pearl enjoyed many winters in Mesa, Arizona. Harleigh was predeceased by his parents Aaron and Marion; his brother Stewart; sister-in-law Jean; and brother-in-law Robert Collie. Harleigh will be sadly missed by his wife Pearl. Together they raised a family of three sons and one daughter: Grant (Verla) Seann and Lana; Jim (Nancy) Aaron, Danielle and Jason; Elaine (Brian Graham) Tara, Lisa and Krista of Portage; Ron (Tanis) Craig and Chad. He will also be remembered by his sister Lauraine of California; brothers Bill (Florence), Lawrence (Marlyne) of Neepawa; Don and special friend Ruth Martin of Souris; and sister-in-law Donna of Winnipeg. The Ceremony to Celebrate Harleigh's Life will be held Thursday, March 30, 2000 at 2:00 p.m. at Memories Chapel. Rev. Margret Kristjansson will officiate. Interment will be in the Brandon Hills Cemetery.
