Surrounded by the love of family, Guenther Roth passed away on October 16, 2026, at the Assiniboine Centre in Brandon, Manitoba after a long five-year battle with cancer.

Born in Germany, Guenther served as a mechanic in the German military, which brought him to CFB Shilo, Manitoba. What began as a military posting eventually led him to make Canada his permanent home.

Guenther spent his working years as a millwright with Masterfeeds in Brandon, where he formed many lasting friendships. The camaraderie and friendships he shared with his coworkers meant a great deal to him.

A talented and passionate soccer player, Guenther was well known in Brandon’s soccer community for many years, leaving his mark both on and off the field.

Guenther will be lovingly remembered by his longtime partner, Irene Ginter; her children, Scott Holden, Gwen Rowe and Tammy Rowe; and grandchildren, Jessica Holden, Brody Pollichuk, Anthony Hicks and partner Shoshoni Andrews. He is also survived by his brother, Andreas Roth, and his wife, Susanne Roth; and his sister, Gaby Kranz, and her husband, Heinz Kranz.

He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by his family, friends and all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

A Celebration of Guenther’s Life will be held on Friday, October 30, 2026 at Memories Chapel – 330 18th Street North, Brandon, Manitoba beginning at 11:00 a.m.
