On Friday, December 24, 2021, Grace passed away peacefully with her son Tom and daughter Judy by her side at the Souris Health Centre. Grace was born on December 14, 1937 in Dauphin, MB. Her family moved to Brandon and that is where she graduated from nursing as an LPN. She then met and married Richard Roy on June 21, 1957. They had five children, twelve grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren: son Michael, granddaughter Meagan and great grandson Deacon; son Hubert, grandson Ryan, granddaughter Anastasia (John) Muir and great grandchildren Ryder, Kinzley and Gage, granddaughter Courtney Roy (Jordan Melnyk); daughter Judy (Allan) Rookes, grandson Dana (Ellie) Rookes and great grandchildren Jase and Emerson, granddaughter Amanda Rookes and great grandson Avery MacNeil, grandson Richard (Tina) Rookes and great granddaughter Azayleah; granddaughter Samantha (Victor) Seagris and great grandsons Logan and Finn; son Tim (Lana) Roy, granddaughter Jade (Devin) Keller and great granddaughters Elliot and Noa, grandson Max (Niina) Roy; son Tom (Caroline) Roy, granddaughter Kendall and grandson Matthew. Grace enjoyed crocheting, playing Bingo and cards and going on trips to visit her children and their cabins. She loved driving to visit her son in Calgary and then go on to visit her brothers and sisters in BC. Grace was predeceased by her husband Richard on June 11, 1990; grandson Ryan on July 16, 2004; and son Hubert on September 14, 2018. Our family would like to extend our thanks to Dr. Cram and the Palliative Care Staff as well as the palliative nurses in Brandon. The Celebration of Grace's Life will be held at Memories Chapel, 330 – 18th Street North, on Saturday, June 11, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. Celebrant will be Rev. Fr. John Okosun of St. Augustine's Roman Catholic Church. Interment will follow at the Brandon Cemetery. Donations in memory of Grace may be made to the Salvation Army, 9 Princess Ave E, Brandon, MB R7A 1R8.
