MURRAY: Gordon Kenneth Murray passed away suddenly on December 19, 1999 at the Brandon Regional Health Centre at the age of 65. He was born on July 20, 1934. Gordon was raised in the farming community of Newdale, the eldest of two children born to Bill and Bessie Murray. Gordon farmed with his father from an early age. He drove the school van with horses, then by car. His love of horses continued over the years raising registered Sorrel Percherons. Gordon married Marjorie Wilson in 1959 and together they had two children. He worked in the North to supplement the farm income; in the mining industry, as well as locally driving truck, welding fabrication for Agri-Steel of Minnedosa, and mechanic for S.H. Dayton Newdale. Gordon also was employed as crusher forman for Bradley's Sand & Gravel in Brandon and worked at the cement plants at Minnedosa and Foxwarren. The last five years prior to retirement he spent managing the sewage lagoon reclaimation project for the city of Edmonton. He was an avid reader and enjoyed socializing at fiddling contests, fairs and exhibitions. Gordon is survived by his wife, Marjorie; son, Cameron of Yellowknife; daughter, Wendy (Terry) Robins of Rivers; two grandchildren Derek and Dana Robins; his mother, Bessie Murray; and his brother, Clayton Murray. Funeral Service was held at Memories Chapel on December 23, 1999 with Rev. Barb Jardine officiating. Donations in memory of Gordon may be made to a charity of choice. Arrangements were with Memories Chapel & Pre-Planning Centre, 727-0330. Memorials Charity of Choice
