Obituary

McEACHEN: Gordon Earl McEachen February 6, 1932 - October 18, 2005 - It is difficult to express the depth of our sorrow with the passing of our beloved brother, uncle and friend. Gordon was born in Arcola, Saskatchewan. He was employed by the CPR and the Canadian Armed Forces, PPCLI. He served in Korea, resulting in life time injuries. Until his retirement he was employed at CFB Shilo, Manitoba. Gordon was an avid fisherman and in later years was very active in youth hockey. He was predeceased by: his partner, Jennie Sexey in January of 2005; his parents, Earl and Hattie McEachen and his brother-in-law Bob Carkener. He will be forever remembered by his sister, Lois Carkener of Brandon; brother, Mell (Mavis) of Onanole; sister, Joan (Barry) Lapointe of Lantzville, BC; and other family members. He is also survived by: his extended family, the Darvill's of Winnipeg and his Korean Vet comrades. A Celebration of Gordon's Life will be held at Memories Chapel, 330-18th Street North, on Tuesday, October 25, 2005 at 2:00 pm. Flowers are gratefully declined. Friends who wish may make a donation in memory of Gordon to the Canadian Cancer Society-Manitoba Division, 193 Sherbrook Street, Winnipeg, MB R3C 2B7 or to a charity of your choice. Expressions of sympathy may be forwarded to memorieschapel@mts.net. Arrangements are with Memories Chapel & Pre-Planning Centre, 727-0330. Memorials
