HUMPHRIES: Gordon Humphries beloved husband of Lorraine and father to Karen and Greg passed away suddenly at the cabin on June 11, 2010 at the age of 64 years. He was born on December 26, 1945. Gord began working at Burns Meats in 1965 and was employed there for 25 years until its closing in 1990. He then took a Carpentry and Woodworking course at ACC in 1991. In 1992 he began his work at The Brandon Clinic as the building Superintendent and was still employed there at the time of his passing. Gord enjoyed hunting and fishing, spending time at the cabin at Clear Lake with family and friends. You could often find Gord and Lorraine drifting along in their boat catching pickerel. When his children were younger Gord supported them in their activities and helped to coach Greg in hockey and Karen in softball. Gord was a proud grandfather and had a huge soft spot for his four "little darlings", his grandchildren. Gordon is survived by: his wife of 42 years Lorraine; daughter Karen (Rick) Cameron and their children Brock and Kaitlyn; son Greg (Kim) and their children Ally and Graysen. Also surviving are: his brother Sid (Gail) Humphries and five sisters; Peggy Agnew (Bill Breach), Elaine (Albert) Therrien, Barb (Wayne) Lindberg, Lil (Gary) Denbow, Susan Humphries as well as special Uncle Don McLean. Mother-in-law Julia Kelor, brother-in-law Bob Kelor, sister-in-law Arlene Kelor (Ron Rogowski) and several nieces and nephews are also left to mourn. The Ceremony to Celebrate Gordon's Life was held at Central United Church, on Friday, June 18, 2010. The Rev. Shannon McCarthy officiated. Urn Bearers were: Karen Cameron and Greg Humphries. All in attendance were considered honorary pallbearers. A private interment service was held at Rosewood Memorial Gardens. Friends who wish may make a donation in memory of Gordon to the Westman Dreams For Kids Foundation, Unit 202, 37-11th Street, Brandon, MB R7A 4J2 or to a charity of choice. Expressions of sympathy may be made at www.memorieschapel.com. Arrangements were with Memories Chapel & Pre-Planning Centre, 727-0330. Memorials
