MUNRO: The death of Gloria May Munro (nee Cox), beloved wife of the late John Munro, occurred at the Brandon Regional Health Centre on Monday, January 9, 2006 at the age of 69 years. Gloria was born in Brandon, the daughter of Alf and Daisy Cox. She attended Gorrie School and met and married John Munro, of Brandon, in 1953. They resided south of Brandon with their five children, Edward, Margaret, Shirley, Bill and Ken. Gloria and her family enjoyed picnics on Sundays, baseball games, country school dances, the smell of roast beef when you turned down the farm lane, Lucky Star drive-in movies and picking potatoes every September long weekend. Jill and Marty remember Pizza Hut Friday's after Gram and Grampa moved to town and sleepovers, where sleep wasn't included and they played cards all night. Ryker will be reminded that however ill Gramma was he would have her giggling and rolling around on the floor whenever he came to visit. All of us will remember meeting at Gram's every Sunday for coffee. Mum will be forever and lovingly remembered by: her children, Edward, Margaret, Shirley (Jim Kauk), Bill (Kim), and Ken (Shawna); grandchildren, Amber (James Chaboyer), Aaron, Jill, Marty and Ryker; and two great grandchildren, Tanner and Kade. She is also survived by: her mother, Daisy of Hillcrest Place; sister, Wilma (Claire) Gilbert, brothers, Mac (Betty), Reg (Bernice) and Wayne (Barb); sisters-in-law, Dawn, Pat and Peg Pineo and numerous nieces and nephews. Gloria was predeceased by: her husband, John (2000); father, Alf; parents-in-law, John and Florence Munro; sister, Donelda (Mel) Karnes; brothers, Ken and Jim; brother-in-law, Chuck Pineo and two nieces and three nephews. The private family service to celebrate Gloria's life was held on January 12, 2006 at Memories Chapel. Urn Bearer was Aaron Munro. Interment followed in the Brandon Cemetery. Flowers are gratefully declined. Friends who wish may make a donation in memory of Gloria to Cancer Care Manitoba, 675 McDermot Avenue, Winnipeg, Manitoba R3B 0V9. MUNRO: Special thanks to all the family, friends, co-workers and neighbours for all the lovely flowers, cards and baking. We appreciated the Cancer Care van drivers for providing transportation for Mum's many trips to Winnipeg, when the family couldn't drive. To Dr. Ramaya who made Mum's visits throughout the last 3 years something to look forward to and not to dread, you are a special person. To all the A2 staff who cared for Mum since October and who were supportive and kind to our family, thank you. To Mona Franklin for your many comforting words to Mum which helped her through the days and for the lovely service, we are truly grateful. To Craig at Memories Chapel for making a difficult time much easier, we thank you.
Sincerely, Bill Munro, Ken Munro and Shirley KaukMemorials
