Obituary

BRYANT: Glenn Alfred of Douglas, Manitoba passed away peacefully with his family at his side, on Sunday, November 14, 1999 at the Assiniboine Centre. Glenn was born on May 27, 1949 in Brandon to Allan and Grace Bryant. He moved with his parents to the Douglas Community in 1950, and has lived there most of his life. In earlier years, Glen attended Sunday School, sang in the church choir and joined Air Cadets. He went to school in Douglas and Elton and then to Assiniboine Community College where he took Automotive Mechanics. He worked for a short time at Binkley Motors, B.M.H.C., and Tim's Transfer. In 1975, Glenn worked for DND in Shilo, until July 1998 when ill health prevented him from working. He worked in Base Maintenance as a parts person. On August 19, 1978, Glenn married May Delannoy in Brandon. Two sons were born, Trevor on October 28, 1980 and Garth on December 17, 1984. Glenn's interests were spending time with his family, yardwork, gardening, fixing whatever required it, camping and travelling across Canada and the USA, visiting with family, friends and meeting new people along the way. Glenn was involved in the Douglas 4-H Club for three years where he taught Small Engine repair. Glenn is survived by his loving wife May; sons Trevor and Garth. Brothers Jim (Helga) and their children Chris (Sheri), Ken and Dave of Brandon; Tom (Cleo) and their children Emily, Kristen, and Rachel of St. Albert, Alberta; father and mother-in-law, Louis and Lillian Delannoy of Ste. Rose du Lac, Manitoba; sisters and brothers-in-law; nieces and nephews. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles and cousins. Glenn was predeceased by his mother, Grace in November 1994 and his father, Allan in August 1998. A memorial service was held on Wednesday, November 17, 1999 at Memories Chapel. Urn bearer was Dave Bryant. Honorary pallbearers were all the family and friends attending. A private family interment was held at Rosewood Memorial Gardens. Donations in Glenn's memory may be made to Douglas Millennium Project, Box 24, Douglas, MB, R0K 0R0. Arrangements were with Memories Chapel & Pre-Planning Centre, 727-0330.
