The death of Gilbert W. Hughes occurred at his residence in Brandon on November 27, 1998. Gilbert was born in Brandon January 22, 1919 and during his years in the city was employed with C.P. Rail as an electrician. He is survived by his son, Charles of Port Moody, BC and a daughter, Carol Johnson of Pembroke, Bermuda. There are five grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Mr. Hughes was predeceased by his two brothers, Bill and Harry and two sisters, Helen and Sally. He was also predeceased by his long time companion, Florence Uffelman. Cremation has taken place. A graveside ceremony will be held at the Rosewood Memorial Gardens on Thursday, December 3, 1998 at 2:00 pm. Capt. Brian Fuller will officiate. Flowers are gratefully declined.
