MALONEY: Gerald "Gerry" William Maloney passed away on Friday, May 13, 2005 at the Brandon Regional Health Centre. Gerry was born in the R.M. Pembina, Manitoba, the son of John and Emma Maloney. The family resided on a farm near Kaleida and Gerry received his education at the Overdale School. He spent his early years farming at home and worked at Brown Steel. Gerry then went to work at the Brandon University, the Government Building doing maintenance work, before going to work at Simplot as security and maintenance. He was a member of the Stamp Collectors Club, collected hockey cards, books, baseball cards and he was involved in Seniors for Seniors. Gerry was also very active in the Sokol Manor. Gerry is survived by his wife, Betty; sisters, Lil (Elwin) Sotheran of Victoria, BC, Fern Nay of Ontario, Bette (Ray) Tait of Kelowna, BC and Sharon McDougall of Boissevain; brothers, John (Dulcie) Maloney of Manitou, MB and George (Helen) Maloney of Baldur, MB; brothers-in-law, Lenard Hink of Morden, MB and Bob Nay of Brandon. He was predeceased by his parents, John Taylor Maloney and Emma Maloney; sister, Ruth Hink and brother-in-law, Allan McDougall. The Funeral Ceremony will be held at St. Mary's Church, Kaleida, MB on Saturday, May 21, 2005 at 2:00 pm. Urn Bearer will be brother, George Maloney. Interment will follow in the Kaleida Cemetery.
