SHELVEY: George Richard "Bill" Shelvey of passed away peacefully at the Assiniboine Centre on July 30, 1999 in his 92nd year. Born and raised on the family farm north of Forrest, he married Dora Walker on November 15, 1939. He farmed in the Forrest area and worked at North Brandon Station until his retirement to Forrest in 1974. Bill is survived by his wife, Dora; son, Jim (Linda); daughters: Phyllis, Elaine Hockley (Garth); and seven grandchildren. Also surviving are sister, Violet; brothers: Fred (Kay), Frank (Pearl), and Bert; sisters-in-law: Eva, Evelyn, Isabel, Irene and Jessie; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents; sisters: Clara, Ella, Gert, Dolly; brothers: Roy, Les, Halhad, Tom, and several brothers and sisters-in-law. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service was held at Memories Chapel on Wednesday, August 4, 1999.
