KLASSEN: George Klassen, of Alexander, beloved husband of Joan, dear father, grandfather and great grandfather, passed away at the Brandon Regional Health Centre on Wednesday, January 2, 2013. George was born in Mexico on February 18, 1937, son of John and Susanna Klassen. Besides his wife Joan he leaves his children; Rick (Tammy), Debbie (Kevin) Stevens, Cathy Nielsen and John (Kim). There are twelve grandchildren and one great granddaughter. He also leaves a brother, Peter and two sisters; Mary Froese and Marge Dyck. George was predeceased by his parents, three brothers, Abe, Henry, John and a sister, Helen. A Graveside ceremony was held on Monday, January 7, 2013 at the Alexander Cemetery. Rev. Orton Anderson officiated. The family received friends at a time of fellowship and refreshment at the Whitehead Hall in Alexander following the graveside service.
