HORSMAN: George William Horsman passed away peacefully with his family by his side, at the age of 68, on Sunday, November 7, 2010 at the Brandon Regional Health Centre. George was born in Moncton, New Brunswick on February 16, 1942. He received his education in Moncton and in 1962, he joined the Canadian Army in Gagetown, New Brunswick. In 1963, he was posted to Shilo, Manitoba, where he met and married his wife Diane (Snusher) in 1964. They were then posted to Germany in 1964, where they met a lot of lifelong friends. Their son Steven was born in Germany in 1967 and in 1968 they were posted back to Gagetown, where they stayed until 1970. They were posted back to Shilo and their daughter Tracy was born. George left the military life in 1975, when he bought his own truck and worked for Arnold Bros. until 1978. He then went on to pursue a 25 year long haul trucking career with Westward Parts achieving almost 3 million miles accident free driving upon retirement. He then took some much deserved time to relax and fish at the family cabin at Thomas Lake, where he and Diane spent many summers enjoying and cherishing many good times with their children and especially grandchildren, whom he loved very much. In the fall, he decided to return to the work force and spent the next years at Wal-Mart enjoying the new challenge until his health started to fail, forcing him to quit. George is survived by: his wife of 46 years, Diane; son Steven, grandchildren Natasha and Kelly; daughter Tracy (Wayne) Goulet, grandchildren Kristopher and Angela. He also leaves a sister Lottie LeFurgey of Moncton; sisters-in-law Wilma (Wayne) Meadows of Minnedosa, Brenda (Brent) Cairns of Brandon, as well as nieces and nephews, cousins, many friends and army buddies. George was predeceased by his mother Doris; stepfather Isaac LeFurgey of Moncton; mother and father-in-law May Little and Al Little of Brandon. In respecting George's wishes, there will be no funeral. Cremation has taken place.
