Obituary

HEBERT: The death of George Raymond Hebert, of Brandon, occurred at the Brandon Regional Health Centre on Monday, May 23, 2005. A time of visitation for friends will be held at Memories Chapel, 330-18th Street North on Thursday evening, May 26, 2005 from 7:30 pm. to 8:30 pm. The Funeral Ceremony will be held at Memories Chapel on Friday, May 27, 2005 at 2:00 pm. The Very Rev. Robin Walker of St. Matthew's Cathedral will officiate. Interment will follow in the Brandon cemetery. Friends who wish may make a donation in memory of Mr. Hebert to the Canadian Cancer Society, Manitoba Division, 193 Sherbrook Street, Winnipeg, MB, R3C 2B7. Complete obituary information will follow. HEBERT: The death of George Raymond Willy Hebert, of Brandon, occurred at the Brandon Regional Health Centre on Monday, May 23, 2005. George was born in Wolesley, Saskatchewan on September 19, 1924, the son of Emery and Clara Hebert. He was raised on the family farm and obtained his education at Wolesley School. As a young man, George worked in the mines around Sudbury, Ontario. It was here that he met, Lucienne Gagnon, his first wife. After the birth of their second child, they moved back to Saskatchewan farming around the Wolesley area. George later moved his family to Manitoba where he spent the majority of his career farming around Woodnorth and Alexander as well as the Wawanesa area. After eight years of farming at Wawanesa he retired and moved to Brandon in 1976. George enjoyed travelling, horses, playing the violin and spending time with his family. George will be lovingly remembered by his second wife, Hilda; his daughters, Joyce (Dave) Burba, Georgette (Cliff) Pettypiece; Evelyne (Terry) Dingle; sons, Ronald (Candice) Hebert, Roger (Val) Hebert, Dennis (Martha) Hebert; brothers and sisters; Maurice, Art and Henry Hebert; Rose Davies and Madeline Denolf. There are numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. George is also survived by; his brother-in-law, Bert (Sue) Teepell; sister-in-law, Ellen McGovern; Hilda? son, Garry Matikka (Darlene); and daughter-in-law, Jessie Matikka and their families. He was predeceased by; his parents, his first wife, Lucienne, and brothers, Felix, Victor, RFne and Paul Hebert. The Funeral Ceremony was held at Memories Chapel on Friday, May 27, 2005. The Very Rev. Robin Walker of St. Matthew's Cathedral officiated. Pallbearers were: Jason Matikka, Dustin Pettypiece, Dean Hebert, Matthew Dingle, Mark Matikka and Daniel Hebert. Interment followed in the Brandon Cemetery.
