BROWN: With deep sadness the Brown family announces the death of their beloved husband, father and grandfather, Garry Keith Brown, at the Brandon Regional Health Centre on November 18, 2002, after a lengthy illness. Garry was born September 30, 1929 to Ella and Carl Brown at McConnell, Manitoba, where he lived, obtained his schooling and began farming. He met and married Margaret in 1954 and they remained on the farm till 1959 at which time they moved to Winnipeg. In 1960 he obtained employment as a salesman with National Grain and the family relocated to Brandon. Up to his retirement Garry's work was in the agricultural field, first with animal feeds and then in the poultry industry. He traveled all over Western Manitoba and developed many friendships that lasted until his passing. He truly was a "people person", loved to visit and was a great storyteller. Even though he had his share of pain and suffering his sense of humor always shone through. Garry was a member of the Masonic Lodge, the Shrine and an Honorary Director of the Provincial Exhibition. Garry was very proud of his family and their accomplishments and "loved and bragged" about his six grandchildren. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife Margaret and his three sons, Grant, Ross (Gail), Kevin (Michelle), and grandchildren, Justin, Jeremy, Jenna, Samantha, Tanea and Keanne. His sisters, Shirley (Tom) Sanderson, Marge (Harry) Hanson, brother Lionel, brothers and sisters-in-law, Beth and Lloyd Oliver and Colin and Edie Lorimer, and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his beloved daughter Candice, on September 2, 2002. Also his parents Carl and Ella Brown, sister Audrey and brother Nelson. The funeral service was held at Memories Chapel on Thursday, November 21 with Mona Franklin officiating. A reflection of fond memories was read by his grandson Justin Brown. Interment was at Riverside Cemetery, Neepawa. Pallbearers: Justin Brown, Kevin Brown, Brent Sanderson, Dennis, Brian and Darcy Oliver. Donations in memory of Garry may be made to the Cancer Society or charity of choice. Arrangements were with Memories Chapel & Pre-Planning Centre. Memorials
