ELLIOTT: Fredrick James Elliott, beloved husband of Phyllis and dear father of Charles "Chuck" passed away at the Brandon Regional Health Centre on Friday, June 25, 2004. Fred was born on February 28, 1928 at Minto, Manitoba, son of Tom and Alice Elliott. Fred loved the outdoors, gardening, nature, fishing, camping, curling, bowling and golf. His summers were spent coaching baseball and working many tournaments. Fred was employed with the C.N.R. in Brandon, Minto and Belmont for forty years, retiring in 1985. He was an active Past Senior Counselor and a twenty-year member of the Brandon U.C.T. Fred will be remembered for his countless hours spent volunteering at numerous community events in Brandon. He leaves his loving wife, Phyllis (nee Fisher), son Chuck (Carla) and grandsons, Hewson and Lyndon. Fred is also survived by his brothers and sisters; Jack (Connie) of Boissevain, George (Iris) of Langley, BC, Nellie (Joe) Kinsley of Neepawa, Laura (Ted) Haslan of Rapid City, Elsie (Jim) Dooley of Steinbach. Also surviving are: sisters-in-law, Vera of Elrose, SK, Helen (Ernie) Spiess, of Brandon, brothers-in-law, Clayton (Yvonne) Fisher of Boissevain, Glen (Marg) Fisher of Medicine Hat, AB, Lionel (Jean) Fisher of Mariapolis and his mother-in-law, Minnie Fisher of Brandon. Cremation has taken place. A private family ceremony will be held on July 1, 2004 at the Minto United Church with interment to follow in the family plot in the Minto Cemetery, Minto, Manitoba. Flowers are gratefully declined.
